Each dance album contained a complete evening's programme of traditional dances. The varied programmes include tunes of different moods, from light waltzes and easy saunters, to dramatic tangos, brisk military two-steps and lively Schottisches.  The dance albums usually included a country dance and Sir Roger de Coverley, and always ended with God Save The King.

Some traditional folk pieces were also often included; sometimes these were incorporated into sets for Quadrilles or Lancers.

The pieces are eminently accessible, and suitable for players looking for easy to intermediate pieces to extend their repertoire.
